SAVE THE DATE - webinar on mapping and monitoring Mediterranean wetlands: techniques, challenges and lessons learned

We are pleased to invite you to join the webinar on “mapping and monitoring Mediterranean wetlands”.

This webinar is the 3rd of the series of online webinars that aim to stimulate knowledge sharing and managers’ participation while addressing various topics and challenges related to wetland conservation and management in the Mediterranean region.

The webinars are organized under the MAVA OAP M3 project: “Disseminating knowledge and sharing experience for promoting wetlands conservation around the Mediterranean”.

Objectives:

Participants will learn about the tools and approaches that have been used to secure the legal protection of the Greek island wetlands and how the Greek experience was replicated in all the islands of the Mediterranean Basin. They will also learn how to better integrate Earth Observation data and tools to support national wetland inventories and reporting obligations, mainly the Ramsar Convention and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Who is the webinar for?

This webinar is aimed mainly at wetland managers in the Mediterranean. It is also relevant for governmental and non-governmental organizations working on wetland conservation.
