Your Opinion Counts: Take part in shaping the future of Ria Formosa Natural Park
April 04, 2023
The Co-management Commission of the Ria Formosa Natural Park (PNRF) has recently launched a commendable initiative to gather valuable insights from the local community and visitors alike. In order to obtain feedback on the current state of the protected area and to aid in planning future actions, the commission has developed two distinct questionnaires. One of these surveys targets individuals who either reside or work within the park’s boundaries, while the other is aimed at tourists who have visited the area.
This initiative is a testament to the current co-management model of managing protected areas across the nation. Its objective is to incorporate a dynamic approach to management based on sustainability and proximity. Various entities are working together to offer their expertise within the framework of their respective powers and attributions. Collaborative and participatory management is at the forefront of this approach, with a particular focus on promoting, raising awareness, and communicating the significance of the park.
Both questionnaires seek to gather input on a range of topics, such as the overall functioning of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, its relevance to the region, and suggestions for measures that can be implemented in the future. Responses are being collected anonymously and will be accepted until April 15th.
The invaluable feedback obtained from these questionnaires will assist in the creation of future plans and policies that prioritize the interests and concerns of the community and visitors, while also ensuring the protection and preservation of the natural beauty of the park.
