Atanasovsko Lake – a story of restoration and successful partnership
Discover the restoration actions undertaken to reduce the effects of floods and improve the ecological processes in the lake Atanasovsko Lake (Bulgaria). The lake is is a significant Ramsar and Natura 2000 site declared under the Birds and Habitats Directives. Known as the “Birds’ paradise”, it is the richest place for birds in Bulgaria with 334 species. It’s also an important biodiversity hot spot in the Black Sea biogeographical region.
Buna River…the Protected Landscape
After five years of action in the Buna River Velipoje Protected Landscape, the partners of the Living Buna project have shared successful solutions for improved protected area conservation. These solutions include actions undertaken by all sectors in the Buna community.
