SAVE THE DATE – Innovative Approaches in the coastal wetlands management

This third webinar will summarise the first two webinars with a wrap-up of the methodology for socioeconomic and environmental assessment of Nature-based Solutions (NbS). It will also present the research results about NbS economic opportunities to favour policy decision-makers and business engagement. To support the statements, concrete feedback from the partners of the MAVA Foundation, will embody the presented methodology. Finally, there will an official launch of a common framework on the economics of NbS: “The guidelines on the Economics of NbS”.

Monitoring the health of our coastal wetlands – the Wetland Index: Case studies across the Mediterranean

The Wetland Index (WI) is a tool that aims at monitoring the health of wetlands using a simple, cost-efficient, and replicable method. The assessment, based on the IBA monitoring framework, can be undertaken each year even with limited resources. The scoring approach enables the situation to be easily compared over the years: what the threats are, what the state of the site is, in terms of habitat or species population changes, what are the conservation actions taken at the site, and how each of these factors evolves over time.

The economics of nature-based solutions: opportunities for Mediterranean coastal wetlands — #3/3

This webinar summarised the first two webinars and offered the means for policy decision-makers and businesses to communicate about the results of the cost-benefit analysis led on Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Concrete feedback from the MAVA partners embodied the presented methodology, and a future document detailing the methodological guidelines on the Economics of NbS intended for the attendees was promoted.
